Mabamba cycling- Wheels and birding epic
The Mabamba epic cycling trail is a trail marked and scouted by our guides Derek and Ivan.
It is a 24km trail to the Mabamba bay. It is all gravel and mostly flat with just a few not so challenging inclines.
A perfect cycling trail for both beginners and seasoned cyclists.
Mabamba swamp is a Ramsar site and Important Bird Area (IBA). The wetland hosts over 300 bird species that include many globally threatened species, 7 of Uganda’s 12 Lake Victoria biome restricted species (notable is the Papyrys Gonolek) and plenty of wetland specialties.
