Are you ready for an unforgettable mountain adventure? Join Sunny Outdoors Uganda as we take you on the mighty Mt. Kenya. This 4-day trek will take you via the Sirimon route to ascend Mt. Kenya and descend through the Chogoria route, offering stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and dramatic scenery.
About the Experience
This expedition is a thrilling opportunity to climb Kenya's highest peaks, explore its diverse landscapes, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Mt. Kenya National Park. You'll trek through the Sirimon route, known for its moderate gradients and breathtaking views, and descend through the scenic Chogoria route, famous for its dramatic cliffs, lakes, and valleys.
The Full Itinerary
Day 1:
Departure to Nairobi.
Day 2: Sirimon Gate (2,650m) – Old Moses Camp (3,300m)
After a good night’s rest, we’ll head to Sirimon Gate . Once we meet the climbing crew (porters and guides), we’ll start the trek through the forest, rich with wildlife, toward Old Moses Camp. Dinner and overnight at Old Moses Camp.

- Hiking distance: 9km
- Hiking time: 3-4 hours
Day 3: Old Moses Camp – Shipton Camp (4,200m)
After breakfast, trek up the Mackinder's Valley, passing through stunning landscapes of moorland and alpine zones. Enjoy lunch en route and arrive at Shipton Camp, located beneath the towering peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp, where you'll prepare for the summit attempt the following day.

- Hiking time: 6-7 hours
Day 4: Shipton Camp – Lenana Summit (4,985m) – Mintos Camp (4,300m)
Wake up at 2:30 AM for an early breakfast and start your trek to Lenana Peak in the pre-dawn darkness. Reach the summit in time for a spectacular sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, begin the descent to Mintos Camp on the Chogoria route. Dinner and overnight at Mintos Camp.

- Hiking time: 6-7 hours
Day 5: Mintos Camp – Chogoria Gate (2,950m)
After breakfast, continue the descent through the beautiful Gorges Valley and Lake Michaelson. Arrive at Chogoria Gate by midday, where the trek ends. After meeting your transport, you will travel back to Nairobi, where you’ll rest.
